How to assemble LED under cabinet lights (UCA series) - Part 3

In this final blog post of our three part series on the assembly of LED under cabinet lights, we will discuss various assembly options for the hardwired version of the UCA series. Using a hardwire power supply for your install creates a seamless appearance since no wires are exposed and the lights are operated from the wall switch. Please note that the hardwired assembly requires a qualified electrician to carry out your install and is more complicated compared to the plugin assembly.

The plug in method can be a great way to add under cabinet lighting to your kitchen since it is more cost effective and easier to install as compared to the hard wire option. Barring the one exposed cord that connects to the outlet, the other wires can be hidden under the cabinet.

Color Rendering Index in LED under cabinet lighting

In our last post, we talked about the importance of color temperature in your choice of LED under cabinet lighting. Color temperatures relate to the color of light emitted by the source.  Designers generally recommend color temperatures in the 2700K – 3500K range for kitchens with wooden, earthier tones and color temperatures in the 3500K – 4500K range for kitchens with primary colors and stainless steel appliances.
